SITE OVERVIEW ...  Listed by the UKHO as an unknown. Due to the site containing a water tube boiler and a lattice / tripod type mast, the wreck is thought to be that of a naval vessel of some description, rather than that of a merchantman. Reports from various diving sources over the years have stated that for the most part the wreckage is little more than a metre or so clear of the seabed, however other reports state that there are larger sections of wreckage to be found on the site.

Having dived the site on two separate occasions and conducted several searches of the area with a sounder, nothing was found that showed itself to be any higher than a metre or so clear of the seabed. This however is not to say it was missed during the searches undertaken.  Diving ... Once you are on the wreck it becomes very evident that a great deal of the wreck is now buried beneath the gravel and sand seabed. There are still parts of the collapsed hull, ie plates and ribs to be seen here and there that protrude above the seabed, for the most part this being little more than twelve inches or so. The wreckage is well spread out, with many areas being separated from each other, this in turn requiring lining off and searching the seabed until the next piece of wreckage comes into view.
